Diamondbacks!

I was on the website for the little league and found these pictures. The first two are of the boys at the Diamondbacks game. If they wore their uniform they got to walk the field before the game started. I was happy to find these pictures because Larry didn't take any.

These were just random pictures of different games played throughout the season.

Piano Recital

Haley had her first piano recital last night. She was a bit nervous and really didn't want to be there. She was really hoping she would have a softball game that way she could miss the recital but fortunately & unfortunately her team lost out of the tournament last week which freed her schedule up.

She has a difficult time because she only has a keyboard to practice on at home so when she plays on the piano sometimes it sounds a little different and it throws her off. But she did a great job.

Just the girls!

This weekend was our annual Father & Son's campout for church. I don't have any pictures of it but I do have pictures of all the fun Haley & I had while the boys were gone. Friday night, as soon as all the daycare babies were gone, we met several friends @ Ned's Crazy Sub for dinner. I have been doing some serious dieting for a couple months (down 15 lbs. - wahoo) but this weekend all diets were off. I ate a whole 12" sub, bag of chips (regular, not baked) and drank a Coke. MMMMMM! I only get one weekend a year with no boys so I was living it up!

From there we went to Golfland for some goofy golfing. And goofy it was.

There were three golf courses to choose from and we, most appropriately, chose the "Princess Path" course. Here are all of our little princesses in front of their castle.

After golfing the girls wanted to cool off in the pool so we went to a friends and the kids swam why us moms just hung out. Haley put an end to our evening when she fell off the diving board and scrapped her leg up from big toe to thigh (the only downer of the weekend).

Saturday we hooked up with some more friends and got pedicures. Because of Haley's pool injury she had to settle for a manicure instead.

Haley went for a summer yellow.

Can you tell which toes belong to who?
After our pedi's we had lunch at Someburros where once again I ate way too much. It was a great weekend. I love spending time with Haley. There are definitely advantages to being the only girl. She is way spoiled! I'm already looking forward to next year.

Science Fair

Last Thursday was the Keller Science Fair. The boys have been attending Science Club once a week after school for most of the year and have had a really great time learning lots of cool stuff. They both worked on a project for the Fair. Jacob's project was the screaming balloon. He put a hex nut inside a balloon and then blew it up. When he spinned it, it made this awful screaming noise.

Nate's project was on sound waves. The big can sitting on the desk has a piece of plastic over the top with salt on it. When he bangs on the small can in his hand the sound waves that it creates makes the salt move without touching it. Very cool!

After the Fair they ended the year by having a pizza party. All the kids who participated received a medal to wear around their necks. They are already looking forward to being in the science club again next year.

Tag - I'm it!

This was kind of fun. I think I've been tagged before but didn't do it. So here it is -- the 6th picture in the 6th folder.

This was taken last October after a fun-filled evening at the Pumpkin Patch. Can't be very comfortable but he was out like a light. I have a whole folder of pictures of Jaxson sleeping in crazy places. He's such a funny kid.

Cinco de Mayo

We had a mexican food potluck at the park yesterday for Cinco de Mayo. My favorite foods in the whole world: tacos, enchaladas, burritos, salsa, quacamole, 7-layer ... yum yum! I probably gained back half of the weight that I've fought so hard to lose this last month. It was definitely worth it.

Chef Augie warming the totillas. He makes the best tacos EVER!

Haley turned 14!

Saturday was Haley's 14th birthday. I wanted to post this on her birthday but I was so sick that I spent the weekend in bed. So I'm afraid it wasn't much of a birthday for her but that doesn't mean she's any less special. Haley is the best daughter I could have ever asked for. Heavenly Father knew what he was doing when he sent her down to be our first child. She is so helpful to me around the house and with the boys. I would be totally lost without her. I love how she is so thoughtful of others and gives everything her all. She is an excellent student, musician & athlete and is growing into a beautiful young woman who knows who she is and what she wants in life. She loves her Savior and her Heavenly Father and has a strong testimony of the gospel. She has such a sweet spirit and is genuinely a kind person. It makes me sad to know that I only have about 5 more years with her before she goes off to college (she's pushing for BYU but we're rooting for ASU).

Here's a look back

1 month old.

2 years

5 years - first day of kindergarten

8 years - Baptism

10 years

And here she at 14. Yes, she is making her own birthday cake because I was too sick to do it. Isn't she beautiful!

Here she is blowing out the candles on the cake that she made and then cleaning up the mess that the family made while celebrating.

This was her dads special birthday gift for her. Yes, even though I adore her to death I still love to embarras her (which apparently I do quit often).

She's such a trooper and never complained once. The whole day wasn't a total loss though. Her Aunt Tammie took her to lunch and then shopping to get a new swimming suit and after taking four Advil to get my fevor to break I dragged myself out of bed and took her to Deseret Book to buy a new CTR ring. I didn't even look in the mirror so I'm sure I was a scarry sight. That's OK -- she was worth it.

Happy Birthday Haley!
We Love You!
