Nate 11th Birthday

Nate chose Native New Yorker for his birthday dinner. He LOVES chicken wings.

We had the family over for brownies and ice cream. He got money and a new Pokemon game.

He is growing up too fast. I can't believe that in just one year he'll be in young mens and passing the sacrament. That's a little scary! Nate is an all around great kid. He loves school and gets good grades. He started playing the trumpet this year in the band and he loves playing football. He's going through a goofy phase right now (I hope it's just a phase), he likes making annoying faces and sounds and just acts silly. He's almost as tall as his sister and wears bigger shoes than she does. It won't be much longer before he's taller than me...now that's going to be weird.

We love you Nate...Happy Birthday!

Halloween

Fun at the pumpkin patch.

Mason - 2 months old

weight: 12 lbs 7.5 oz

length: 24.5 inches

head: 15.5 inches

He's in the 70th percentile for weight, 95th percentile for height and 25th percentile for head circumference. I guess my little man has a tiny head??? I don't think it's tiny, in fact with the cheeks he's packing on it, it looks pretty big. Oh well, what do those dr.'s know anyway, right?

He's now only waking up once a night to eat and here's why.

Yes, I flipped him over on his tummy. I know I'm not supposed to but he's good at lifting his head and, well, let's face it, he sleeps better which lets me sleep better which just makes life BETTER!

Plus, tummy time is an important part of development and he gets plenty of it.

He loves his bath. If he's fussy or real upset, giving him a bath always calms him down.

He loves his binky! None of my other kids took a binky so this is a whole new experience for me. I love it that I can pop it in his mouth and it instantly soothes him. I'm sure I'll be kicking myself in two years when I have to take it away from him.

He loves his daddy and likes taking naps with him.

He likes to grasp things in his hand. When I'm holding him he's either got my necklace or my shirt collar in his hand. Sometimes it's my hair or even his own hair. He'll reach up and grab a big handful and pull. Makes himself scream, poor guy. It's kind of funny! Here he is holding daddy's finger while he's napping. So sweet!

He's got the cutest, chubbiest cheeks ever! I love them!!

We love this little man and are so happy he's part of our family!

iCarly & Ribs

Anyone else get tired of watching the same episodes over and over again of our kid's favorite TV shows? I sure do. I think I can quote several of the Sponge Bob episodes from start to finish. Well the other night I was grateful for all those iCarly shows that we're constantly watching.

So this is how dinner usually goes in our house. I cook it and put it on the table. We all sit down and immediately Jaxson pushes his plate away and says "I hate that" (even if he's eaten it several times before). The rest of us start eating and after about 15-20 minutes of coaxing, pleading, bribing and yes, sometimes even angry words, he will take a bite. About 90% of the time this is his response "I love it". Ugh!!! Then he proceeds to finish his dinner. Of course, by this time the rest of us are usually done eating and his food is cold but he still eats it. If only he knew it tastes so much better HOT!

So the other night we had BBQ ribs for dinner. Jaxson was outside with Larry while he was cooking them and he walked inside with a big mouthful of ribs. I was shocked! I asked Larry how he got him to try the ribs so easily and he said it was because Sam likes ribs. What?? Who's Sam? We don't know any Sam. Wrong! Of course we know a Sam, she's on iCarly! Silly me. So we sat down to a nice peaceful dinner with no "I hate that's" to deal with! THANK YOU iCarly!

I think I need to write the iCarly show and ask them to have Sam eat all kinds of good, nutritious foods and then maybe Jaxson will eat them too!

Yes, Sam wore a bib when she ate her ribs so Jaxson had to also. Whatever works right!

Crazy Hail Storm

We had the storm of a lifetime last week...at least I don't ever remember having a storm like this before. Lots & lots of rain and hail the size of quarters! It came down so hard I thought it was going to break my windows. We did get water that came through the windows in the basement and the office upstairs and had a small piece of drip edge on the roof that was damaged. Luckily that was the extent of it...easily fixed. We were grateful cause there were broken windows, downed telephone polls and lots of damage to cars all over the valley.

It looked like snow piled up against the fence.

The front door.

Thank goodness Larry went to work that day cause his truck is normally parked right where this very large branch from the neighbors tree fell.

The playset out back took a pretty good beating too. The hail took chips of the stain off all over it so until I restain next Spring it's gonna look like it has chicken pox.

Larry also got stuck on the runway waiting to take off when the hail storm hit. They had to return to the gate to inspect for damage before they could leave. This was one of the very few times I've actually been worried about him flying.

It was an exciting, scary storm and I'm glad we pulled through with minimal damage and everybody was safe.

Baby Feet

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE baby feet. They are so tiny and perfect and sweet. I kiss Mason's feet all day long. I'm constantly snapping pictures of his cute little feet and I thought I would share a few.

Too bad these sweet little things are going to grow into big, stinky adolescent boy feet. YUCK!

Wacky Hair Day

A couple weeks ago the boys had wacky hair day at school. In years past I can't ever get them to do anything fun...they're boring! But this year Nate is in student council and so he had to show school spirit and participate which motivated the other boys to be a little funky too.

Mason - 6 weeks old

Mason is 6 weeks old today. When I took him to the Dr. last week he weighed 9 lbs. 10 oz. He is in the 90th percentile for his height and 50th percentile for weight. He's going to be tall and skinny just like his 3 older brothers. He is so super cute and we love him a ton!
