Not an Apple!

Mason's been sneaking apples out of the fridge lately...which he gets in trouble for because he chokes on the peels.  If he would just ask, I would cut and peel it for him.  Well, the other day he grabbed what he thought was an apple, but it was really a tomato. Good thing he loves tomatoes just as much as apples!

All Stars

Jake made the All Star team again this year. He's such a good ball player.  He can play just about any position.  His favorites are Pitcher, Short Stop and 1st Base.  I love watching him play!

20 years

My dad and step-mom celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary this month.  It's amazing to see how much our family has grown and changed.  Here is a picture of all of us at their wedding.

In the last 20 years we've added 9 spouses and 25 grandkids...and we're still growing.

(missing in this picture is Kelly & family, Crystal & family, Larry & Jacob and baby Colby who was sleeping in his carseat on the floor)

Mason's 1st Shiner

Well I guess it's not really a shiner, but I thought it would be. Yesterday he fell off the couch face first into the toy box.  It immediately turned purple and swelled.  I thought he would wake up this morning with a black eye but it's really not that bad.

The Big Screen

We took Mason to the movies with us.  It was only the $2 theater...I would never try taking him to the full price theaters. We used to see movies all the time with the kids but when Mason came along he kind of put a cramp in our style.  It's so hard finding babysitters so we just don't go...or just Larry or I will take the older kids while the other stays home with Mason. But that's no fun. So I thought I would give it a try. We loaded up on candy and popcorn and I prayed that he would be good.  I should of know better, the fact that he's not the slightest bit interested in movies or TV at home should of been my first clue.

Even a bag of gummy bears and a giant bucket of popcorn weren't enough to keep him still. Five minutes into the movie we had to go out.  We were at Superstition Springs Mall so I took him outside and he ran around the big amphitheater for about an hour...thank goodness the weather was nice.  Then I gave it another try. I got smart this time and put his binky in his mouth.  That helped him calm down and be still.  He fell  asleep on my lap so I caught the last 20 minutes of the movie.

The amazing thing is, I didn't get upset or frustrated.  I'm happy that my older kids enjoyed the movie and had a good time.  I figure it's worth the hassle just for that.

Nate 6th Grade Promotion

This is his super awesome teacher, Mr. Leadward.  After 20+ years of teaching at Keller he retired.  I begged him all year to stay just one more year so he could be Jake's teacher but he wouldn't do it.  He was ready to go.

Nate with all his best buds! Some of them will be going to Taylor with him, some of them not.  It's always sad to say goodbye to friends.

San Diego

Jake went to San Diego with his class.  They left on a bus Wednesday afternoon and returned Friday night. They went to Sea World, The Cabrillo Beach Aquarium, World War II Memorial, Deep Sea Fishing & had a bon fire on the beach.  I sent him with a camera and got a bunch of fun pictures back.
